Introduction to Studio Art

A staple of the Centerline Arts Group: the class where our founding members met! Our Intro to Studio Art class is a study of artistic elements, drawing and painting techniques that will introduce students to art fundamentals. Through different projects we will be building foundational skills: line, shape, form, light, shadow, and color. We will be evaluating each other's work to practice artistic criticism. All ages welcome.

Materials needed: Sketch Pad 18 x 24 Inches, Graphite Pencil Set, Charcoal, Acrylic Paint Primary Color set, Brushes, Kneaded Eraser.

Pastel Workshop

We are very fortunate to have a few pastel experts in our midst! They are generous enough to pass on some of their wisdom and answer any questions about pastels that you may have. Attendees will work on an individual project while the instructors come around to provide valuable feedback. In the past these have been a smashing success, so we hope to see you there! Younger artists are welcome too.

Future Fun Happenings to be Announced Soon!

Digital Art with Chelsea

Chelsea is a library media specialist at an elementary school and specializes in many forms of digital art. For this workshop we would be learning digital techniques to improve your traditional art, as well as creating new art using fun tools in Photoshop. We are still working out the details on how to bring the tech to the studio but hopefully soon we will be announcing a date for this!

Exhibits

Twice a year we put together the funds to create two or more exhibitions. Our volunteers put a lot of work into planning and curating our gallery, plus the opening night reception is always a great time! Members are always welcome to make submissions. We will be giving updates about these at our monthly meeting. Interested volunteers can contact Bianca.
